Spring Program Guide:ŒThe Spring Program Guide will be delivered to your home by Jan. 28. If you haven't received your guide, call (847) 577-3003, ext. 5353. Resident Online Registration begins at 9 a.m. Feb. 7.

Chilly Open: The Chilly Open will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Arlington Lake Golf Club, 211 S. New Wilke Road. The $30 fee per person entitles each player to a round of golf, a raffle ticket with a chance to win a special prize and of course, all the delicious hot chili you can eat. Coffee, beer and hot chocolate are also available. Prizes are awarded to the top players in male, female and senior divisions. Starting times begin at 8 a.m. Players are grouped in foursomes. Pre-registered golfers may select their tee times on a first-come basis.

Taping of Judge Mathis: Be part of the studio audience for this fun and interesting show taped at NBC Studios Jan. 25. Must show a photo I.D. on day of tour. There will be time to snack between breaks, so bring a sack lunch. Motorcoach departs at 8:15 a.m. from the Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road, and returns at approximately 4:45 p.m. Fee: $42 for members and $52 for non-members. To register, call (847) 797-5341 for more details. Easy balloon sculpting for kids: "Doc" Morrissy will show how easy it is to make balloon sculptures from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Jan. 26. This fun workshop at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, 110 W. Fremont St., is for kids eight years old and up. The kids learn to turn those long skinny balloons into the shapes of animals, swords, hats, flowers, a bumble-bee, hummingbird or even a giant octopus. Fees: $18 for members and $23 for non-members. Best of the Bands:ŒThe Fireside pays tribute to the Big Bands, The Rock Bands, Jazz Bands and the Country Bands of the '40s, '50s, '60s and beyond on Jan. 31. This show will be performed on The Fireside's own celebrated stage and by a talented cast of singers and dancers. A featured luncheon menu is included as well as motorcoach transportation. Motorcoach departs the Senior Center at 8:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 6:15 p.m. Fees: $93 for members and $103 for non-members. Stop by the Park District Office in the Senior Center at 1801 W. Central Road in Arlington Heights to register. Call (847) 797-5341.

Hand-Knit Felt Purses: Create your own hand-knit felt purse at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, 110 W. Fremont St. All purses are 100 percent wool. Basic knitting skills required: casting off, casting on, stockingnet stitch and garter stitch. Yarn will be provided by instructor. Bring the following needles to class: US #10 circular with at least 24" length and a US #10 double point. Fee: $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Potawatomi Casino: Join the Arlington Classic Tour Club for a visit to Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee Feb. 5. This tour includes a luncheon buffet, $20 casino cash, games, prizes and motorcoach transportation. Fees: $40 for members and $50 for non-members. Motorcoach departs from the Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road, at 8:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 6 p.m. Call (847) 797-5341 for registration details. Participants must be 21 years of age or older for casino tours.

Sexy Senior Tour -- Milk Pail: Join Author and Comedian Sally Edwards for an afternoon of fun and laughter at The Milk Pail on Feb. 21. The show, titled "You Know You're a Sexy Senior When..." finds the funny in senior living. A turkey luncheon will be served at The Milk Pail. Motorcoach departs the Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road, at 11 a.m. and returns at approximately 5 p.m. Fee: $67 for members and $77 for nonmembers. Junior Historian Club: The Historical Museum's Junior Historian Club returns for its second year. Designed for boys and girls from third through eighth grade, the Club offers activities created to help members learn more about their community and its heritage.

New Wood Shop Hours: New Saturday wood shop hours for February, March and April are 9 a.m. to noon. The Arlington Heights Senior Center has a state-of-the-art, fully equipped wood shop offering wood working classes conducted by professionals. Take a tour and get more information on this facility. Arlington Artists on Display: Once again, the Arlington Heights Historical Museum's Heritage Gallery is transformed into an art gallery. The original works of 60 artists who live, work or enhance the arts within our very own community will be displayed through Jan. 27 in the gallery at 112 W. Fremont St. Various types of media are presented in the 6th annual "Arlington Artists on Display" exhibition including: watercolor, oil, pen and ink, pencil, acrylic, mixed media, pastel, paper, photographic based imagery and wood.
