Bulls suspend Noah after verbal altercation with assistant coach
PHILADELPHIA - Bulls rookie Joakim Noah was placed on the inactive list for Friday's game at Philadelphia due to a disciplinary action.
Noah admitted getting into a verbal altercation with one of the assistant coaches at the morning shootaround, but chose not to provide reporters with many details.
"It was just a little altercation with one of the coaches," Noah said before the game. "I think I overreacted. I'll take the consequences when things like this happen. It's a learning experience and it won't happen again."
Coach Jim Boylan said the punishment was for one game only. Noah has played in 27 of 33 games this season, averaging 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds.
The Bulls were already short-handed for Friday's matchup with the 76ers because forward Luol Deng was sitting out his third game with left Achilles tendinitis. Deng is hopeful that he'll be ready to play on Sunday in Atlanta.
