Briefs: Farm bureau recognized

The Kane County Farm Bureau's Red or Green tractor raffle, held at the Touch a Tractor event in March, raised $14,000 for scholarships, a donation to a chapter of the Future Farmers of America and the Kane County Farm Bureau Agriculture in the Classroom program. The event "appealed to farm, nonfarm, rural and suburban audiences," the American Farm Bureau Federation said. Kane and the 14 other honorees have been invited to share information about their programs at the American Farm Bureau Federation's 89th annual convention in New Orleans next week.

Fundraiser sells Elvis items

The Huntley Area Public Library is hosting a fundraiser to celebrate Elvis Presley's 73rd birthday. This week, the library is selling more than 40 books about the King of Rock, including "E is for Elvis," "The Illustrated Elvis" and "Last Train to Memphis: The Rise of Elvis Presley." Many of the books were donated by library patrons. Last year, the Elvis-themed sale raised more than $200 for the library. The proceeds from this year's sale will go into the Friends of the Library Fund. Call (847) 669-5386.
