Jackson leads Western Illinois

David Jackson scored a game-high 23 points to lead Western Illinois to a 75-52 win over South Dakota State on Thursday night in Macomb.

James Washington added 15 points and Jerryck Owens-Murrey added 10 points for Western Illinois (7-8, 2-2 Summit), which led 28-19 at the half.

South Dakota State (6-10, 1-4) fell behind on miserable first-half shooting. The Jackrabbits hit just 7 of 26 field goals.

Butler 74, Green Bay 65: Matt Howard had 22 points and 9 rebounds, and No. 14 Butler (15-1, 4-1 Horizon) beat visiting Green Bay (9-6, 3-2) for its seventh straight win.

Mike Green scored 18 points, A.J. Graves added 13 and Willie Veasley had 7 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who tied the 2002-03 team for the best start in school history.
