Secretary pleads not guilty
A receptionist for the Cook County public defender's office has entered a not guilty plea on charges she accepted a delivery of nearly 38 pounds of marijuana at her Loop office. Lamour Holloway, 40, was arrested Nov. 27 after an undercover officer, dressed as a UPS worker, delivered the package to Holloway at the Cook County Administration Building. A police dog detected drugs in the package, which was shipped from California and addressed to Holloway. Holloway was arrested when, prosecutors said, she attempted to load the drugs into a vehicle in which her husband was waiting. She was charged with possession of cannabis.
