U-46 wants input about search for new leader

What kind of qualities does the Elgin Area School District U-46 community want to see in a new superintendent?

That is exactly what the U-46 board of education and the search firm it's retained to hire the new superintendent would like to know.

The Citizens' Advisory Council, a U-46 parent and community advisory group, will host a forum at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Elgin High School library, 1200 Maroon Drive, Elgin, for residents to offer input on attributes they feel should be considered in the search for the next superintendent.

Members of the school board and representatives from the search firm ProAct Search Inc. will hear public comments and provide details on the search and timeline.
