'Shakespeare' to benefit Shover Center

Nothing Special Productions, associated with Easter Seals Jayne Shover Center, presents "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)" on Thursday and Friday.

The "Complete Works" is a fast-paced, modern day comedic approach to the writings of William Shakespeare. Three foolish actors decide to take on the seemingly impossible feat of performing all of Shakespeare's plays in one show.

This production is a collaboration of surrounding college students who are local high school alumni. Nick Cardiff is a Burlington Central High School alumnus who currently studies at Illinois State University in Normal. Mikey Laird also attends Illinois State while actor Brian Rohde attends Millikin University in Decatur. Both graduated from Larkin High School in Elgin. There are many more community's youth involved with this entertaining theater group.

For the past three years, Nothing Special Productions has worked with and donated to Easter Seals Jayne Shover Center, which is part of East Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region. Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities, special needs, and their families live better lives for more than 80 years. Whether helping someone improve physical mobility, return to work, or simply gain greater independence for everyday living, Easter Seals offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals.

Nothing Special Productions' mission is to entertain and educate their community through the performing arts while raising money for local charities.
