Save-A-Pet Adoption Center notes

Save-A-Pet Adoption Center

Save-A-Pet Adoption Center, 31664 N. Fairfield Road, Grayslake, has dogs and cats available for adoption to approved homes. For details, call (847) 740-7788 or visit the Web site at www.save-a-pet-il.org. If you are interested in fostering, call the shelter at ext. 143.

Meet Cisco.

This front-paw declawed guy was described by his prior guardian as the love of her life. She said he loves people, often greeting visitors at the door and escorting them around. He also enjoys his independence, so Cisco, who is 8 or 9 years old, can keep himself entertained. While he didn't live with another cat, he has no problem sharing cubby holes and kitty beds with other cats at the shelter.

These pets are also looking for homes.

Ruby is a caramel puppy with some white and standing ears with the tips folded over.

Stanley Man is a 1-year-old white lab/boxer mix with brown patches. He loves playing with other dogs and might excel in agility classes.

Save-A-Pet is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Adoption fees are $125 for a kitten, $100 for a cat 1 year old or older, $250 for a puppy up to 7 months old, $150 for a dog 7 months to 7 years old and $125 for a dog older than 7 years.

Save-A-Pet now uses the identifying microchip on all dogs and cats entering the shelter.
