Man gets jail for drug possession
An Antioch Township man was sentenced to 60 days in jail when not working Monday after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine.
Lake County Circuit Judge George Bridges also ordered Jon Wulf, 28, to serve two years on probation and perform 100 public service hours.
Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Brett Henne said police were called Sept. 16 when Wulf, of 42212 N. Fifth Ave., was found sleeping in his car in the drive-through lane of an Antioch fast-food restaurant.
Police woke Wulf, had him exit the car and found five grams of cocaine in his pocket during a search.
Wulf also had $1,419 in cash with him at the time of his arrest that he agreed to forfeit to the state as part of his plea agreement.
Bridges fined Wulf $3,450 and ordered him to complete whatever substance abuse treatment the probation department recommended.
Henne said Wulf could have faced up to 15 years in prison had he been convicted.
