Voters should back School District 89

My wife, children and I have been part of School District 89 for over eight years. We have been extremely happy with the board of education, superintendent, principals, staff and especially the teachers. Everyone continues to be focused on our children's academic success and social well being.

District 89 communicates well with the community, engages parents, and talks straight.

We are ecstatic to be part of this community.

I would like to congratulate District 89 for maintaining a high level of academic achievement, especially in light of having one of the lowest tax rates in the surrounding area.

The District 89 referendum on Feb. 5 will keep the same tax rate as was previously approved in 1997 while maintaining and improving the district's buildings and infrastructure.

Before I vote, I look at how a referendum will affect my family. District 89 is focused on improving an already high level of academic achievement; is attentive to the security of the students and teachers; and is committed to addressing future initiatives that will enhance the learning environment.

To me, approving this referendum is a win-win situation.
