Job fair in Batavia
The Batavia Teen Center will have a job fair for people looking for seasonal or part-time work this summer. The all-age fair will give job seekers a chance to talk to employers face to face and apply on site. Admission is free. The job fair is from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Shannon Hall, adjacent to the Eastside Community Center at 14 N. Van Buren St., Batavia. Preschool open house set
Parents interested in enrolling children in the Pottawatomie Preschool program in St. Charles can attend an open house from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 19. The event will include a tour of the preschool wing at Pottawatomie Community Center, 8 North Ave., and teachers also will be on hand to answer questions. Jazz fundraiser planned:
The Greater St. Charles Education Foundation will have its annual fundraiser at 6 p.m. Feb. 9 at St. Charles Country Club, 1250 Country Club Road. "Jazz the Night Away" will include raffles, auctions, dinner and live jazz music performed by high school students. Tickets are $85. For more information, call (630) 377-2777.
'Mulan' comes to Arcada:
Rising Star Theatreworks of Geneva will present Disney's "Mulan" Jan. 25 to 27 at the Arcada Theater, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles. The production includes a cast of more than 50 young people. Evening performances start at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25 and 26. Matinees are set for 2 p.m. Jan. 26 and 27. Tickets are $10 to $12.
