Prospect Heights man faces assault charges

Bond for a Prospect Heights man accused of molesting a young girl was set at $300,000 Saturday by Cook County Judge Alfred Levinson.

Antonio Pedraza, 51, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault of a 5-year-old in October. The girl came into contact with Pedraza when she was being babysat by his roommate, prosecutors said.

Pedraza was arrested late last week and did not post bond during his appearance at the Rolling Meadows courthouse, police said. His next court date is Jan. 24.
