Prospective members invited to Kol Chaverim

Congregation Kol Chaverim, a 1-year-old, post-denominational, participatory congregation serving all North Shore and Northwest suburbs, invites prospective members to regular Shabbat morning services and kiddush lunch, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Jewish Council for Youth Services Northwest, 1700 Weiland Road, Buffalo Grove, beginning Saturday.

"We hope to provide a place of worship to those whose children have completed their studies; to people who are seeking an adult community, informal worship, friendship, and regular intellectual discussions," President Michael Gurin of Glenview, said. "There are no building fund fees, because we do not have a building of our own."

Gurin emphasized that at Kol Chaverim, all members can play a role.

"That includes leading services, singing, interpreting the weekly Torah portion, and bringing food for lunch," he said.

In accord with congregational policy, all Holocaust survivors are invited to be honorary members at no charge.

Those interested are asked to respond by calling (847) 398-2019 by today. For more information, visit www.kolchaverim.org.
