Ask us!

Ask usI heard there is going to be a community-wide talent show to raise money for the District 158 Foundation. How can I get involved?

Auditions for the Community Showcase performance, which will take place Feb. 10, will be held this month.

Anyone is welcome to audition for the show, which will help raise funds for students in District 158.

The auditions will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 15 and from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 16 in room 1216 (the choir room) at Huntley High School.

All ages and talents are welcome to audition, and there is no residency requirement.

There will be a piano and CD player available; however you'll need to provide your own accompanist.

Those wishing to audition should contact Kim Skaja at (815) 923-8810 or at kskaja158@foxvalley.net to reserve an audition time. Auditioners also may sign up at the door to room 1216.

Acts must be complete, but need not be polished. Singers may use a karaoke CD. Acts should be appropriate for family viewing and no more than four minutes in length. Longer acts will be considered if prior permission is given.

The actual show will begin at 2 p.m. on Feb. 10 at the high school, and there'll be an ice cream social at the event, too. Tickets will go on sale Jan. 22 in the offices of the district's schools.
