Lose that holiday weight with new DVDs
With the holidays behind us, many people might be thinking about turning to DVDs to help get back in shape. She has designed programs for indoor cycling, and is an innovator as well as a motivator.
There are six volumes in Voight's new series; each is designed to help you reach your goals. The titles are from Entertainment Fitness, run 30 minutes and retail for $12.98 each. They are: "Firm Arms & Abs," "Lean Legs & Butt," "Pure and Simple Stretch," "Quick and Slim," "Slim Toning on a Ball" and "Yoga Power."
Documentary
If you have ever seen a Broadway show, you might have been listening to the words and music of Jerry Herman. In the new documentary "Words and Music by Jerry Herman," award-winning filmmaker Amber Edwards traces Herman's rise from writing for off-Broadway shows in the 1950s to becoming a living theater legend. He is responsible for the shows "Milk and Honey," "Hello Dolly," "Mame," "Dear World," "Mack & Mabel," "The Grand Tour" and "La Cage aux Folles."
The fun and entertaining program about the Tony- and Grammy-winning composer/lyricist features many stars who have appeared in his productions. Carol Channing, Angela Lansbury, Charles Nelson Reilly, Phyllis Newman, Leslie Uggams, Michael Feinstein, George Hearn, Marge Champion and many others are featured in interviews, archival footage of original Broadway performances, rehearsal sessions, home movies, film clips, original cast recordings and live performances. There are great extras with Channing, Robert Preston and Lansbury performing as well. It is available from PBS Home Video and retails for $24.99.
