Two men killed in laudromat fire
An overnight fire at a Chicago Ridge laundromat has left two men dead.
Authorities say two homeless men sought refuge from the cold in the laundroma.
Police officers noticed flames coming from Bruno's Cleaners around 1:30 a.m. After firefighters put out the blaze, they found the bodies of the two men.
Both victims were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where they were pronounced dead.
No one else was in the building at the time, but Fire Chief Tim Baldermann says a couple of other homeless people had left the laundry before the fire broke out.
Baldermann says it is too early to determine if the fire was accidental.
