Letters haven't addressed war costs
I have not seen letters to the editor lately reflecting the cost of war to our nation and the people of Iraq.
Are our vessels so empty that we cannot muster the strength to talk about the drain this war has been on our very souls?
When this government waged a war against a sovereign nation, they (with the consent of the people) drained the spirit and life out of our children and theirs.
I hope this letter to the editor opens up discussion again about the loss, and what can be found if we choose to fill ourselves with goodness instead of destruction for the sake of humanity.
We are coming up to a new election cycle, to consider a new road to be taken to find our way back to the values that will fill us, so we can fill others in return.
One-hundred and twenty of our soldiers commit suicide a week; 29,000 plus soldiers are so severely injured they will require critical care for the rest of their lives; 300,000 soldiers are the walking wounded, and over 4,000 of our sons and daughter no longer have vessels to be filled, because they have ceased to exist.
We have failed them, by allowing this war to continue. Now, for the sake of our children and our own well being we must make amends.
True fulfillment comes through peace, love and charity for all people.
