Insulted by effort to destroy new village
As a resident of Campton Hills and someone who has been following the attempt to dissolve our newly formed village, I am insulted and cannot believe this effort is being considered.
The incorporation was in the press and discussed among residents for almost two years before being voted in by the residents in April with 55 percent of the vote.
Our last two presidential electrons didn't have that many people agreeing. The group fighting the incorporation is spreading the same misinformation as was spread before residents voted in April.
I cannot believe people don't see or have not looked for the truth.
I'll help you find it. I live it. My taxes are not going to increase, and if they do, it will not be as a result of living in the village, unless it's due to these legal fees.
My mailing address is still St. Charles. We have a new post office in my zip code, and feel pretty strongly that isn't going to change.
I now feel people who share the same values for quality of life represent me, and are controlling the development within the boundaries of Campton Hills are in place. Decisions are being made for us, by us and to benefit us.
The police protection is excellent. In fact, as a neighborhood watch captain, the response from Campton Hills Police Chief Anderson is better than my experiences with Kane County.
Anderson has focused on concerns that are relevant to our village only, not the entire county. End of story.
To coin an old phrase: "Village of Campton Hills: Love It or Leave It."
If you don't like living here, I am sure there is a developer who will overbuild some farm land somewhere for you.
