Separate attacks at Carpentersville complex
One man was shot and another stabbed in two separate attacks at the Fox View Apartment Complex in Carpentersville.
Carpentersville police responded to a report of the first attack at about 11:30 Monday night.
The 18-year-old victim, a resident of Fox View, suffered superficial stab wounds on his chest and back, police said.
The victim said he was looking for a party when he was attacked in the hallway by group of 10 men, police said.
About 4:30 the next morning, police responded to a report of a second attack.
The 22-year-old victim, a resident of Chicago, had an entrance and exit bullet wound on his left arm and an entrance and exit bullet wound on the left side of his body, police said.
He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
The shooting victim was unable to identify his shooter but said he had been in a fistfight earlier in the night. Police interviewed the other person in the fight and said that person is not currently a suspect in the shooting.
