What about people with allergies?
To the editor: In regard to the article about the golden retriever helper dog not being allowed into the Wheeling restaurant, I believe the manager did the right thing.
There are certain circumstances when the dog would have been necessary, but this girl had both her parents with her at the time of the incident. The dog was not a hairless breed, and I know for a fact that there are countless numbers of people who are allergic to dogs, particularly golden retrievers, which shed large amounts of hair.
It is very unfortunate that this girl has this life-changing physical disability, but people with allergies should not have to deal with a shedding golden retriever when there are two parents who can help their daughter just as well.
