Fire trustees need to justify tax hike

Long Grove Fire Protection District trustees recently approved a real estate tax increase of 13.89 percent even though they do not spend all of the funds they currently receive and in addition, have more than $5 million in reserve.

I ask the trustees to use their semi-annual publication "Fire Line" which is mailed to all district citizens, to justify their tax increase.
