Facts show I was right about pension

To the editor: Thomas F. Kuehne, finance director for Arlington Heights, writes that neither the fire nor the police pensions are fully funded. (The shortfall, according to the 2007-08 village budget is in excess of $30 million.)

This information is contained in an interoffice memo dated Nov. 7, 2007, sent from Kuehne to Bill Dixon, Arlington Heights Village Manager.

I wrote the same information in a letter which was printed in the Daily Herald on July 9, 2007. Early this summer I met privately with President Mulder, she stated that my letters, printed by the Daily Herald, were all propaganda. She wondered aloud why the Daily Herald even prints my letters. So imagine my surprise when these facts, those President Mulder called propaganda, were in this interoffice memo.

Despite this, I will continue to appreciate constructive criticism, especially when received from my elders.
