'Hannah Montana' star defends photos

• Miley Cyrus is not too happy about what people are saying about pictures of her and a friend that ended up on the Internet. People.com says the "Hannah Montana" star told a New York radio station that the pictures -- which show Cyrus and another teen girl sharing a piece of candy and, well, frolicking on a hotel room floor -- are "nothing bad." She insists that the pictures depict innocent moments between her and "a friend of mine that's a normal girl. #8230; That's one of my best friends."

Matt Reeves, director of producer Abrams' much-hyped monster movie, "Cloverfield," says we'll get our first peek at the new voyages of Capt. Kirk on Jan. 18 when his movie hits theaters. "I've known for a long, long, time that was their plan, and I've just recently seen bits of the teaser," Reeves tells MTV.com. "I think it's amazing, and it looks pretty incredible."
