Many should help out MainStreet

The Liberty Prairie Area Homeowners Association has made a donation of $250 to MainStreet Libertyville in the hope that it will help in some measure to relieve the financial burden MainStreet is presently experiencing. The four neighborhoods that are part of LPAHA -- Bull Creek, Country Club Estates, Bull Creek West, and Wood Hollow -- are located in the northwest corner of unincorporated Libertyville Township.

While we are not within the village boundaries, Libertyville is our town, and we've been proud to see the improvements and advances that have taken place in the downtown area over time. What MainStreet has helped to accomplish with the various activities throughout the year has contributed in great measure to the ambiance of downtown and to the feeling of a friendly community.

This has attracted new residents and has encouraged people who grew up here to move back and raise their families.

We are hoping that other homeowners associations in the surrounding area will feel challenged to contribute likewise to this fund.

A healthy downtown has a "trickle out" effect on surrounding neighborhoods, even those in unincorporated areas. We also hope that various groups of businesses will be inspired to contribute in a generous spirit.
