Police say man had about 50 pot plants

A 21-year-old Hanover Township man was ordered held on $250,000 bond Saturday after authorities said he was caught with more than 5,000 grams of marijuana.

Christopher R. Nauman, of 31W365 Bode Road, faces a felony drug charge that could put him in prison for up to 30 years if he's convicted. He is on probation for an earlier drug charge, authorities said.

Prosecutors said Cook County sheriff's police found Nauman's marijuana plants -- about 50 -- while executing a search warrant last week. Nauman is due back in the Rolling Meadows courthouse Jan. 25.
