One employee dead after minor train derailment near Aurora

One railway employee is dead following a small train derailment near a lumber yard southwest of Aurora.

Police were called to the scene of a partially overturned train car and the body of a Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway worker near Bristol.

Authorities investigating the death say they do not know how the employee was killed. The employee was part of a crew working on a routine switching operation.

Police officers from Yorkville, Plano and Kendall County responded to the incident.
