5 guilty of illegal dumping in Aurora
Two men and three businesses have pleaded guilty in connection with an illegal dump in Aurora in 2003, officials said Friday.
Eugene Finnigan of Lemont was sentenced Thursday to two years probation and ordered to pay $1,700 in fines, court costs and fees after pleading guilty to attempted criminal disposal of waste, a misdemeanor, officials said. He also must participate in future illegal landfill court proceedings.
Two Lemont businesses associated with Finnigan -- R.A.C. Ventures Inc. and Rite Angle Construction &Remodeling Inc. -- also pleaded guilty and were placed on two years conditional discharged and ordered to pay $2,300 in fines and costs.
A fourth defendant, Anthony Belle of Chicago and his business, C.O.D. Roll-Off & Disposal, pleaded guilty Aug. 9 to felony charges of criminal disposal of waste.
Belle and the business were placed on conditional discharge and ordered to pay $3,900 and $2,300, respectively, in fines and costs.
The illegal dump operated on part of a used-car lot at 512 N. Broadway.
