The skinny: The Ramblers need a shot of confidence after a winless trip to Missouri that prolonged their offensive struggles. They should get it against Saint Mary's University, a winless Division III team from Winona, Minn. But whether the Cardinals adequately prepare Loyola for Horizon League reentry is extremely debatable. As its league brethren face strong competition -- Green Bay visits Michigan State, Valparaiso travels to North Carolina, Butler visits Southern Illinois -- Loyola takes on another non-Division I foe, a pattern during coach Jim Whitesell's tenure. If anything, the Ramblers can get junior guard J.R. Blount back on track tonight. Blount shot a combined 2-for-22 in losses to Saint Louis and UMKC.
