Scouting Ark.-Little Rick @ NIU

Ark.-Little Rock (9-2) at NIU (2-9)

When: Noon at the Convocation Center

Radio: WSCR 670-AM

The skinny: For the fourth consecutive week, the Huskies' lone game falls on a Saturday. Since this is their first home appearance since beating Air Force on Dec. 4, the marketing department is doing its best to bring in a crowd by offering $1 tickets in the upper bowl. What might curious fans see? A team that's short on experience but gaining more confidence each time out. With senior guard Ryan Paradise (broken nose) still out, Glenbard North grad Jarvis Nichols (9.8 ppg) leads a balanced Huskies attack. UALR put together a seven-game winning streak against the likes of Tulsa and Pepperdine before falling at Creighton last Saturday. The Trojans also have no double-figure scorers in their lineup, but they pound teams on the boards (plus-8.1 per game) and limit opponents to 36.3 percent shooting. Neither stat bodes well for the Huskies.
