Deja vu: Another OT winner for Sterling

Brett Sterling scored the winning goal in overtime for the second straight game to lift the Chicago Wolves to a 4-3 victory over the Rockford IceHogs on Thursday night at the Allstate Arena.

Sterling's AHL-leading 19th goal of the season came after linemates Jason Krog and Darren Haydar set him up in front of IceHogs goalie Corey Crawford. The 23-year-old winger also netted the winner Saturday at Grand Rapids.

Krog had a goal and 2 assists, giving him points in seven straight contests. The 32-year-old forward paces the AHL with 42 points in 30 games.

Haydar had 2 assists, his third straight game with multiple points since being reassigned by the NHL's Atlanta Thrashers on Dec. 16.

"It was a great passing play by the guys along the boards to get the puck across the crease to me," said Sterling, the 2007 AHL Rookie of the Year. "We should have put this game away in regulation, but it's a positive that we still found a way to win."

The Wolves (22-7-1-0) won their fourth straight and trail Rockford (20-6-3-5) by 3 points for the West Division lead.
