Steve Cochran headlines diverse New Year's Eve show at Hemmens

Steve Cochran's fourth annual "New Year's Eve Comedy and Music Spectacular for People Who Can't Stay Up Past Midnight" returns to Elgin's Hemmens Cultural Center.

This year's comedy and music roundup includes Patty Vasquez, Tim Clue, musical diva Megon McDonough, and special guest and host of "Taste of America" on the Discovery Channel Mark DeCarlo -- plus a few other surprises.

Host Steve Cochran will be on hand to help bring in the New Year for all his WGN fans.

Says Steve Cochran, "You know we've been at the Hemmens for four years now -- it's turning into quite a tradition. What's great about the Hemmens is the intimate seating in a large-theater venue -- it's perfect for this type of event."

Four years ago, Tim Clue, a Chicago writer and comedian, approached Cochran -- also a former comedian -- and broached the idea of a clean-comedy New Year's Eve show that wouldn't break the bank.

"I knew immediately knew it would be a success and told Clue I was going to claim it for myself," jokes Cochran.

For a night of squeaky-clean comedy and great music, join Cochran and friends at the Hemmens Cultural Center at 7:30 p.m.

This show will sell out so get your tickets early. Call the box office at (847) 931-5900 or online at www.hemmens.org.
