Thanks for sharing in Carol Stream
I would like to thank Mindy Thomas and the Carol Stream social services department for once again organizing a very successful Christmas Sharing program.
They oversaw a collective effort of many Carol Stream residents, businesses and students that gave underprivileged families in Carol Stream some Christmas joy.
On Dec. 13, those families were able to go to Lutheran Church of the Master and pick up food from the food pantry.
After receiving food for their families, they then stopped at Joe Cotton Ford, who shut his business down for the evening so he could become Santa's Workshop and hand out gifts to these families.
The Joe Cotton Ford family not only gave use of their showroom but also partnered with Scholastic Books to make sure each child left with a book, and handed out donated stuffed animals.
The Carol Stream Youth Council also collected donations and made Christmas stockings for the children and handed them out as well.
To each resident, business and student who donated money, food, clothing or their time for this wonderful program, I say thank you for helping families in need who live in Carol Stream, and giving those children something for under their tree.
