Long Grove fire unit must explain

The Long Grove Fire Protection District Trustees recently approved a real estate tax increase of 13.89 percent even though they do not spend all of the funds they currently receive and in addition have more than $5 million in reserve.

I ask the trustees to use their semi-annual publication "Fire Line," which is mailed to all District citizens, to justify their tax increase.
