Remember all their sacrifices this season

As we are all sitting around the Christmas tree this holiday, enjoying our family and friends, please keep in mind all of those men and women in the United States Military who are serving us.

Remember they are not able to see the look on their son's or daughter's face as they open up that perfect gift. They are not able to hand their mom that necklace they hunted for.

But most of all, they are away from their families this holiday season. They cannot be there to carve the Christmas turkey or watch their kids fight over the drumstick.

They make it possible for us to sit in our homes safe and secure, knowing there is someone out there protecting us.

Also remember their families, who are spending this Christmas season without them, and those families whose loved ones have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

So as you all sit around your Christmas meal and look into your child's face and see the joy, please remember to wish for the safety of those who are ensuring our greatest gift of all -- freedom.

Political correctness wins again in media

Now that WERV-FM is no longer going to play "Smokin'" by Boston, what other demands will it cave into?

No references to drinking in its play list? No mention of politics, if it is not deemed in keeping with the current government administration?

When 95.9 deletes "Smokin'" from its play list, I delete 95.9 from my car radio presets!
