Fan who snapped cell phone photos of R. Kelly in court is released
A 49-year-old grandmother has pleaded guilty to contempt of court after admitting she snapped photos of R&B superstar R. Kelly in a Chicago courtroom last week.
Jean Johnson says she didn't realize cameras weren't allowed in courtrooms.
Describing herself as Kelly's "biggest fan," she says she couldn't resist snapping four grainy pictures of him as he sat across from her last Thursday.
She'd been in court to resolve a probation violation charge. Kelly faces child pornography charges.
Johnson pleaded guilty Monday to contempt of court and was sentenced to five days in jail. Judge Vincent Gaughan (GAWN) gave her credit for the days she'd already spent in custody and she was released.
He also ordered her cell phone destroyed.
