Armored car employee shot, wounded at Calumet City mall

Authorities say an armored car employee was shot and wounded Monday at a shopping mall in Calumet City.

Police say the shooting was reported at the J.C. Penney store at the River Oaks Mall.

Police say they believe the employee was shot by an unknown suspect, who took an undisclosed amount of money.

The employee was not identified but reported to be in stable condition at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields.

Calumet City police and federal officials are investigating.

Mall representatives said no stores were closed Monday.
