Sad observation on abortion in America
Abortion in the USA was never considered an absolute, no-questions-asked, "right," and was always considered a state-by-state legislative matter -- until Roe vs. Wade was adjudicated and literally overnight made abortion tantamount to the right to keep and bear arms.
Actually, abortion is probably considered today more of a right than firearms ownership! What a sad observation. Gun-control advocates are always whining about how dangerous it is to have a gun in the home, but it's OK to kill innocent babies down the street at your friendly local abortion clinic.
Even worse, a letter to the Fence Post (Nov. 12) used a verse from Genesis to justify the ugly "choice" of abortion. What a howler! If the person who submitted that letter had bothered to read farther to Exodus 21:22 she would have known that abortion is not considered moral in the Bible. In fact, it would have been looked upon for what it actually is: murder.
Remember when Vietnam Veterans were mocked in the 1970s by the Jane Fonda crowd and called "baby killers"? I guess it's just fine to be a baby killer nowadays, however, if it's done in an abortion clinic with the full blessing of the Supreme Court and our representatives in Washington, DC.
