Can't change truth of incorporation vote
For those of my neighbors who remember the old time TV show "Truth or Consequences, the lesson was "tell the truth or pay the consequences."
I'm glad the court rejected the lawsuit by the politically motivated opponents of the village of Campton Hills in their attempt to dissolve our new community. Based on news articles, cartoons, the personal visits to my house by those misinformed neighbors and the misleading information on the opposition's Web page, I'm glad the judge put an end to this nonsense.
Fictitious names haven't fooled village residents into thinking this opposition movement is seeking what's in the best interest of our village. The opposition has been rejected, and I hope they move on and leave us to remain the quiet, rural community we voted for.
Election Day is just what it says, the time to vote your choice based on the facts you've researched and received. The real lesson to be learned from this experience is to vote on Election Day. As the judge noted in his ruling, the voters chose to incorporate Campton Hills.
The written goal of the Campton Hills leadership team is to preserve the quality of life my family wants and has enjoyed over the past 15 years. Just like any new private business venture, the village leadership team needs time to implement the plan.
