Crack down on lead paint scandal
Lead paint and glass shards are a horror. How ironic that we should be discussing this danger as urgent days before Christmas, which is children's day with new toys.
But as this worry was looming up off the Pacific Coast, what we saw in the media the last few months were presidential candidates touting their talents -- some of them puffed up before the cameras and dead serious about their careers.
Who speaks loudly about this scandal? No matter how important our trade agreements with China, the indifference to our health and safety is a scandal.
We have every right to hold these products at the border for inspection. China's attitude and our crippled leadership reek of indifference so brazenly they smack of hostility. Methinks this is a poke in our eye. A challenge disguised as Santa Claus.
