Lawbreakers whine about feeling hurt

I am responding to the Dec. 14 article about how Hispanics feel hurt about tougher immigration laws.

I am a U.S.-born citizen and I strongly feel if you are in this country illegally and you want the same rights as a U.S. citizen, then you should go through the proper channels and become one.

Why should they have protection if they are actively breaking immigration law. The U.S. is an equal opportunity country for all people, but we should be putting legal citizens of the country first for jobs and benefits.

If you are illegal and commit a crime in this country, you should be sent back to where you came from. If you feel so strong about your heritage and country, then why don't you just stay there?
