Briefs: Get tickets for Aurora rivalry

Tickets for the East Aurora-West Aurora boys basketball game will go on sale to the general public at 6:15 tonight at Ponquinette Field House at East Aurora High School, 779 Fifth Ave. The game is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at West Aurora High School, 1201 W. New York St. Tickets are $4 for adults, $2 for students.

Give coats to charity

Jewel Middle School's Leos Club concludes its coat drive Friday. Donated coats will be provided to area needy families. Winter coats in good, clean condition can be turned in at the school's main office, 1501 Waterford Road, North Aurora, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.

Special Yule service

Batavia United Methodist Church, 8 N. Batavia Ave., is offering a Longest Night service at 5 p.m. Saturday. It is designed for people who find it hard to be joyful at Christmas because of personal loss. The service features Scripture, a brief homily, quiet carols, contemplative silence, prayer and sharing. Following the service, those who wish can stay and be ministered to individually. Call (630) 879-7060.

Vote on North Aurora lights

North Aurora residents can vote on who has the most beautiful home decorations in the village. This annual event is sponsored by the North Aurora Lions Club. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. You can drive past the following contest entries and then vote for your favorite: 1318 Fairfield Way; 1435 Oakland Circle; 203 Hill Ave.; 217 Wildwood Drive; 220 Larchwood Lane; 221 Wildwood Drive; 2712 McDuffee Circle; 342 Wildwood Drive; 409 Spruce St.; 502 Chesterfield Lane; 511 Wingfoot Drive; 839 Columbia Circle; Hartfield Estates III neighborhood; and Mooselake Estates neighborhood. Residents must submit their vote no later than noon Saturday. Drama boot camp for kids:

Children who are interested in theater and between the ages of 8 and 18 can participate in a Three-Day Musical Theatre Boot Camp this month at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles. The program, presented by Noble Fool Theatricals, is planned for Wednesday through Dec. 28, with daily instruction starting at 9 a.m. Participants will learn singing and dancing routines from hit productions such as "Wicked," "Rent," "Godspell" and "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown."
