Employees evacuate Lake Zurich business

A workplace fire alarm helped alert employees at Tredegar Film Products to evacuate the building Tuesday afternoon when the utility room caught fire, Lake Zurich fire officials said.

Everyone was out of the building safely by the time crews arrived at 4:32 p.m. to find smoke coming from 351 Oakwood Road, Capt. Robert Bacheler said.

The fire started in the rear of the building near a piece of machinery in the utility room, which is where the blaze was confined, he explained.
