DuPage Children's Museum

The DuPage Children's Museum, 301 N. Washington St., Naperville, is a not-for-profit organization. Programs are free with museum admission unless otherwise noted. Admission is $7.50 for visitors ages 1 to 59; $6.50 for ages 60 and older. Family memberships are $88 per year. ACM Adventurer memberships are $110 per year and include entry to more than 100 different children's museums in the United States. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. For details, call (630) 637-8000.

Autism Family Night:ŒThe third Thursday of the month is for children with autism to come and play at the museum, but everyone is welcome. The museum is open 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, and resources on recreation, therapy providers, school issues and support organizations are available. Standard museum admission.

Museum closed:ŒThe museum is closed Saturday to hold a Dreams for Kids Holiday for Hope Party for 1,200 homeless, disabled and underprivileged children. The museum also will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1. To volunteer for the Dreams for Kids party, e-mail dreams@dreamsforkids.org.

Winter break:ŒSpecial activities are offered from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Art Studio during winter break. The schedule is as follows: Dec. 23 ( 1 to 3 p.m. only), snowflake patterns; Dec. 26, wire mobiles; Dec. 27, dabbling dough; Dec. 28, geomobiles; Dec. 29, bendable wire sculptures; Dec. 30 (1 to 3 p.m. only), celebration shakers; Jan. 2, paper mosaics; Jan. 3, wheel painting; Jan. 4, snowflake patterns; Jan. 5, dabbling dough.

Jazz concert:ŒThe Paul Abella Trio performs jazz from 10:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 29.

Bubble bash:ŒKids celebrate the New Year early with a concert featuring the nationally-known Imagination Movers followed by the Bubble Bash Countdown from 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 31 at Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 per child, free for children under 2 with lap pass tickets. For details, (630) 896-6666.
