Wolves lose again
PEORIA -- The Chicago Wolves could not overcome an early 3-goal deficit and a season-low 18 shots on goal, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena on Friday night.
The Wolves (18-7-1-0) have lost five of their last six games, and have dropped four consecutive road games.
The Rivermen (11-8-2-3) took a 1-0 lead at 9:43 of the first period when Nikolay Lemtyugov took a backhand pass from Ryan Glenn in front of the net and snapped a shot past Wolves goaltender Robert Gherson.
Micki DuPont added a power-play goal that proved to be the game-winner with 1:11 left in the opening period.
The Rivermen increased their lead to 3-0 when Chris Porter redirected a shot by Glenn past Gherson at 14:35 of the second period.
The Wolves got on the scoreboard when Jesse Schultz converted a pass from Jason Krog into the net at 4:26 of the third period.
