Come see the trains at DuPage museum

The DuPage County Historical Museum is in danger of closing due to the crisis in the 2008 county budget. If this happens it will be a great lost to the residents of DuPage County.

I encourage you to visit the museum. You will be amazed at the building's architecture, the beautiful craftsmanship, the DuPage County Exhibit that details the development of the county, the auditorium with its vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows….but you will never forget the trains.

The museum has a model train display with over 2,000 foot of track that is one of the largest train exhibits in the country. They are HO-gauge trains that are designed to model the railways of DuPage County and the communities of DuPage. It is an authentic reproduction that delights people of all ages.

It is something you have to see. The trains run on a limited basis when the museum is open. However, the third Saturday of every month is Train Day.

Today the museum will be hosting "TrainFest". All the trains will be in action, there will be train memorabilia dating back to the 1800s, as well as special programming and activities with a train theme. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. For TrainFest, the trains will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Come and see one of the largest and best train exhibits this country has to offer and it is right in your own backyard!
