Exelon taking over security at its plants

Chicago-based Exelon Corp. said Friday it will replace Wackenhut Corp. with an in-house security force at its 10 nuclear power plants in the wake of incidents earlier this year in which guards at a Pennsylvania plant were videotaped sleeping on the job. The announcement came 2½ months after Chicago-based Exelon terminated its contract with Wackenhut at the Peach Bottom nuclear power plant in south-central Pennsylvania after security officers were recorded nodding off or dozing.
