Police seek witnesses to bus crash

Naperville police are looking for any witnesses to a downtown accident Thursday morning between a car and a school bus.

No one was injured in the crash, though the bus was full of children, but the drivers each are presenting differing accounts of what happened, Naperville Police Cmdr. Joel Truemper said.

Here's what police say they do know: both vehicles were on Washington Street north of Chicago Avenue heading south around 9:30 a.m. at the point where two lanes narrow to one. That's when they collided, Truemper said.

Though there were 51 students and two adults on the bus, and one driver in the 2006 Buick Lucerne, police said no one was injured and damage was minimal.

Police are asking anyone who saw the crash to call Officer Tracy Nance at 630-420-8572.
