• First Congregational Church of Dundee will hold its seventh annual Cookie Walk from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 15 at the church, 900 S. Eighth St. (Route 31 and Angle Tarn), West Dundee. The community is invited to this event. Admission is free.

Homemade holiday cookies and candies will be available in many varieties and sold by weight.

Pick your own specialty holiday cookies from the selection. The church also will sell its latest cookbook, "A Taste of Heaven," for $6 each or four for $20. Many of the cookie recipes are included.

The church provides financial support to six area organizations in the community serving children and families. All proceeds from Cookie Walk 2007 will be used to fund these charities helping the hungry, the homeless and those in need.

• The Village Green Book Club will hold a bake sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at The Village Green, 605 Barrington Ave., East Dundee. There will be homemade cookies and fudge. Admission is free. For details, call (847) 844-3801.

• The Burbon Square Holiday Shop-A-Thon will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 500 Constitution Drive, Palatine. There will be more than 35 crafters and vendors. For details, e-mail Gina. falconetti@sbcglobal.net.

Friday to Saturday

• The Four Paws Animal Foundation will host its Holiday Bazaar from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 11 Buckthorn, South Barrington. The event will feature crafters and vendors. For details, call (224) 622-6425.

• The WomanCraft Holiday Open House and Studio Sale will be noon to 5 p.m. today, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Deborah's Place, 4115 W. Ogden, Chicago. It will feature eco-friendly, fairly traded, handmade items and demonstrations. WomanCraft is the social enterprise of nonprofit Deborah's Place. For details, call (773) 521-3414.
