Drew to join Judson soccer

The beginning of a new class was started for the Judson University men's soccer team as head coach Steve Burke has signed his first player for the 2008 season. Larkin's Stephen Drew has signed to play his collegiate career with the Eagles.

Drew is coming off a career for the Royals in which he posted 6 goals and 30 assists. In his senior season, he scored 5 goals with 12 assists in helping Larkin to a second straight regional championship.

The three-year varsity starter was a Daily Herald All-Area player and Upstate Eight all-conference in his senior season. He has also been named to the academic all-conference team, twice.

From 2005 to 2007 he was a member of the Kopion Soccer Club and also played his freshman year of soccer at Christian Liberty Academy. He scored 18 goals and had 12 assists in that season and was named the CLA Player of the Year.

Judson is coming of another stellar season where it won its fourth straight NAIA Region VII championship, CCAC championship, CCAC Tournament championship, and an appearance at the NAIA National Tournament.
