Signs your holiday display may be tacky

• Plastic figurines that resemble an army about to attack the house next door.

• Having more inflatable figures than your house has bathrooms.

• Leaving lights on the lawn so the mail carrier can step on them.

• Words spelled out in lights. The more incorrect spellings, the better, er, worse.

• Outside lights that appear randomly thrown on, not hung with care.

• A display giving the house a glow that can be seen blocks away.

• Penguins. Period. What do penguins, who live near the South Pole, have to do with Santa, who lives at the North Pole?
